Harlech First Responders

Harlech First Responders heading

Harlech First Responders are a community Rapid Response Group. Set up to attend life threatening medical emergencies within the Harlech and District area of North Wales.

Paul Mills and Hefin Jones instigated the enterprise at a packed meeting in the Memorial Hall early spring 2007. To date this is biggest turnout of a community to a First Responders awareness meeting.

Within a few months a Team of volunteers had been formed, trained and was ready to go. This response came to fruition in Mid June 2007.

Want to do something for your community?
We are looking for new team members in the Harlech area to join the Responders.
You must be over 18, reasonably fit, with a clean driving Licence, and own transport.
Full training will be given over a weekend period.
So if you want to give something back into the local community,
email dave@harlechresponders.co.uk with your contact details.

Calls to Responders are made automatically and are often despatched even before your '999' call has been completed.

The Responders are independent from the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust, but work under their guidance and the Team is one of the busiest in Wales.

Please remember, if you have a medical emergency the first course of action is to dial '999', even if you know a member of the team. Our emergency equipment is constantly mobile and the team members work in shifts.
